ABOUT US

How do we efficiently serve food pantries and women’s shelters spread out over more than 1,000 square miles?

What we do:

  1. Raise money

  2. Communicate with each shelter or pantry about their needs

  3. Order products online

  4. Ship direct to each pantry or shelter

Why this approach?

  • It is easily replicated in every community

  • It allows anyone to donate to help people anywhere (it's not location-specific)

  • It avoids the logistical nightmare and inefficiency of collecting and distributing tampons and pads

How does Shape of Justice help food pantries and shelters?

  • 100% of donated funds are used to buy sanitary products

  • We raise money online (PayPal), from members (direct debit), or by cash or check

  • The pantry or shelter emails or phones us with orders

  • We place periodic orders with Amazon:

    • Products are shipped directly to the pantry or shelter

    • No shipping fees are incurred

    • 2-day delivery is guaranteed

What does it cost?

A Typical shipment:

  • 200 each of tampons, pads, and liners

    • Costs about $75 per shipment

  • Food pantry or shelter in small town:

    • Four shipments per year

    • About $300 per year to provide full support

  • Regional food pantry

    • One shipment per month

    • About $900 per year to provide full support
